Snow Cone Lady

I have met many wonderful Frisco residents over the last few months as part of my campaign. One of them is Frisco's famous Snow Cone lady, Mary Mathis. While my family and I have spent many summers partaking of the great snow cone tradition in Frisco, I knew little about the lady behind the stand. Read More...

The Support of Friends Old and New

This week I received an email from an old friend, Angela Chatten. The term "old" describes how far we go back, and how long it has been since we have seen each other. Our children were in school together in preschool and Kindergarten at Frisco Montessori Academy (FMA). Angela was the President of the FMA PTA while I served as Vice President. Read More...

Frisco Chamber of Commerce Candidate Forum

A huge thanks to the Chamber of Commerce of Frisco for organizing their Candidate Forum on Monday night and for filling the room with so many interested voters! The format was Q&A with opening and closing statements. We had only 30 seconds to respond to each question, and some good issues were brought up. Read More...

Historic Home Dedication

This past weekend in Historic Downtown Frisco, the Heritage Association unveiled a plaque honoring the Biggerstaff House, now owned by the Jay and Sandi Sudderth. The Sudderth's home is an amazing example of preserving the history of Frisco for our children. Mayor Mike Simpson, S.W. Christie, Vivian Stark McCullam, Bob and Wanda Warren, Suzanne and Clyde Kerley, Bob and Betty King and many others listened to Ken Creager, President of the Frisco Heritage Association, as he led in the plaque presentation ceremony. Check out the pictures. Read More...

Grayhawk HOA Community Day

Yesterday my campaign team was at the Community Day at Grayhawk. While we did not win the trip to Hawaii, we met some terrific people and got the chance to talk about school issues that are important to so many in the Grayhawk community. We even got to see our good friends Brad and Kristi! Read More...

Love and Logic Parenting

One of the people that I really admire at Frisco ISD is the principal of Staley Middle School, Mr. Dennis McDonald. I have seen the passion that he has for the students at Staley and the responsibility that he feels (which is conveyed through all the staff at Staley) about making sure middle school students are equipped with the skills that they need to become successful adults. FEF Events

One of the truly great organizations that we have in this city is the Frisco Education Foundation. Each year FEF provides scholarships to a 100 plus high school seniors to support their continuing education.

This year the 5th Annual Teachers on Ice Event is scheduled for March 27th at the Dr. Pepper Star Center Deja Blue Arena. Tickets are only $5 each and are available at your local FISD school. For more information go to:

(Campaign promise: If elected…I promise to faithfully support the FEF in whatever way they need me for both Teachers on Ice and the Gary Burns Fun Run. Please know, however… I am a better runner than a skater!)
